Charles Stallings music can be heard globally in The U.K., Belgium, New Zealand, Italy, Spain and Australia and “Big Daddy” has represented both The Baltimore and D.C. Blues Societies at The International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN.

Kenny Neal packed the Surf Club on his dynamic first appearance here a year ago. People are still talking about that show, don’t miss his return performance! Kenny Neal is an acclaimed multi-instrumentalist and is widely renowned as a modern swamp-blues master. His new release, Hooked On Your Love, follows the triumph of his multi-award winning 2008 comeback album, Let Life Flow. An outstanding success, the CD raked in the accolades: three prestigious Album Of The Year awards, two Song of The Year awards for the title track, and Kenny himself garnered two Artist of the Year honors.

Black Muddy River Band acoustic group captures the music and spirit of the Grateful Dead. Two- and three-part harmonies overlay accoustic guitars, bass, and mandolin (in ever-changing combinations).

Saturday August 6 - Anthony "Swamp Dog" Clark - $10 ($7 DC Blues Society Members)
Harmonica player, songwriter, and singer Anthony Clark also known as Swamp Dog was born in York, PA, and now resides in and around the Washington DC area, where he is counted among the best blues harmonica players in the area. Representing the DC Blues Society this year and advancing to the semi-finals of the IBC, Clark's widely acclaimed unique tone as well as his masterful musicianship and showmanship on stage has thrilled audiences up and down the east coast. Swamp Dog's professionalism and enthusiasm for his instrument and the blues has not gone unnoticed by many of the top recording musicians quickly becoming sought after for recording projects. His most recent contribution will be heard on a soon to be released project produced by Alligator Records recording artist Kenny Neal and Stackhouse Records recording artist Memphis Gold.
Swamp Dog is a committed bluesman whose musical prowess is unmatched. His charismatic stage presence, smokin harp, and soulful vocal delivery of his originals are as real as it gets.

Friday August 12 - Oklahoma Twisters with special guest Acclaimed Fiddler Paul Anastasio! - $10

The Ok Twisters are a "western swing dance band in the Bob Wills tradition", the Twisters concentrate on music for dancing. Their crowd is a social dance crowd that enjoys a mix of Texas two-steps, swing, waltzes and polkas! Acclaimed Fiddler Paul Anastasio has played with Asleep at the Wheel and country music legends Merle Haggard, Larry Gatlin, and Loretta Lynn!

Thursday August 25 – Ronnie Baker Brooks (Hosted by the DC Blues Society) - $18/$15 Members/$20 @ Door
Ronnie Baker Brooks makes his first ever appearance at the Surf Club and its sure to be one to remember! When he debuted with GOLDDIGGER in 1998, much of the blues world was already familiar with Ronnie Baker Brooks via his long apprenticeship as bandleader for living legend patriarch, Lonnie Brooks. His primal effort helped him earn a WC Handy Award nomination for “Best New Blues Artist” and enough encouragement from fans and media to light the runway for takeoff of a successful solo career.

Saturday August 27 - Beatnik Flies Reunion Show! The Beatnik Flies, The Yachtsmen, and Bobby Belfiore.
This will be the Beatnik Flies first show together as a band in over two years!
